ABOUT

Coach Rev. Katie first started on her journey with health and fitness when she was a caregiver for her mom who had Lewy Body Dementia. Katie knew she had to be strong enough to lift and care for her mother. At the same time, Katie, her husband, and her son were all dealing with chronic health issues that doctors could not help with. As she educated herself on nutrition and fitness interventions that helped her and her family heal, she also became a Montessori Based Dementia Care specialist and co-authored her first book, Creative Connections In Dementia Care®. Her work in dementia care and her own healing from early signs of dementia as well as decades of living with co-occuring mental health disorders led her to study the lifestyle interventions that support optimal brain health and functioning for people of all ages.

Katie helps coach kids, teens, and adults to reach optimal functioning of body and mind, allowing people to function to the best of their ability.

Katie is a Unitarian Universalist minister, now working in the community as a health and fitness coach and dementia specialist. She coaches at Traverse Fitness and works with Brush Development Company, training others in the Association Montessori International Montessori Based Dementia Care Practitioners Certification.
